The dust of the desert has settled.... However, we still find it hard to cool our emotions after The Hotel Show Dubai. This year, as one of 11 Pomeranian companies, we had the pleasure of presenting ourselves at this exclusive event. From May 31 to June 2, visitors to the fair could see UMMO brand lighting. During this time we made many wonderful acquaintances, had dozens of fascinating conversations, and most importantly caught our breath after the pandemic isolation. Pomeranian representation at The Hotel Show Dubai

A few words of introduction about The Hotel Show in Dubai. This event is the largest and most prestigious hospitality, construction and hotel equipment event held in the Middle East. This year Poland has been granted the status of a partner country of The Hotel Show Dubai. The cooperation is aimed at strengthening business relations between Poland and the United Arab Emirates.

Every year, the Dubai show brings together distributors, developers, architects, hotel owners and managers from all over the world to learn about various types of solutions for hotels and spas. Among the booths you will find comprehensive equipment, i.e. furniture, lighting, flooring, decoration, ceramics. The fair also features exhibitors offering design, construction and even software.

In this year's edition, thanks to the support of the Pomerania Development Agency, we could proudly represent our region. In addition to the UMMO brand, companies participating at The Hotel Show Dubai 2021 included: Pasion Furniture, Luvt, Sterillab, Proteh Glassdeep, Baranska Design, Polaszek furniture, Luvt, WentLux, FitnessWell, Yakush, Art-Meta.

Impressions from The Hotel Show in Dubai

The Hotel Show Dubai 2021 was relatively small compared to the momentum and opulence that greeted us in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. However, it was not the size that mattered, but the content - which was not lacking. The UMMO booth was so popular that we went around the whole fair quite vaguely. We were surprised by the dynamism of Dubai itself, its modernity and the speed at which it is growing. It was great to meet so many new people and exchange ideas with them. By lockdown we had almost forgotten how good it is to immerse yourself in another culture for a while. But also to sweat in 50 degree heat.... Polish summer, however, treats us more kindly :)

Dubai is a city full of opportunities, ultra-modern design, which also draws on local traditions, creating a unique atmosphere. You can look in vain for dilapidated and neglected spaces here. To be honest, we felt a bit like we were in Disneyland. Everything seemed so beautiful that it was unreal. The fair showed us what openness is - residents from different corners of the world meet in one place. There were also familiar faces from Poland. Pandemic gave us a chance to talk for the first time in a long time - it was funny that all the way to such a distant place. It was a pleasure to exchange experiences and insights with colleagues in the industry.

Fantastic reception of the UMMO brand in Dubai

The feedback we received about UMMO lamps confirmed that we were on the right path. We even received congratulations from our competitors :) Despite the simple forms and sparing colors, our lighting was very much liked by the participants of the fair. UMMO lamps were quite a counterbalance to the glamour and decorativeness that dominates in Dubai. However, there are many places where minimalist UMMO lamps fit in perfectly. Including the hotel where we stayed during the event. The enormity of the warm words we received at The Hotel Show Dubai gave us wind in our sails and motivated us even more to continue growing.

One booth for so many Pomeranian companies proved to be quite a challenge. Despite the large crowding and thus considerable confusion, visitors were eager to stay with us for longer. As a result, catalogs disappeared like fresh buns.

Further plans

The Hotel Dubai Show has certainly encouraged us to enter the Middle East market and to participate in other foreign fairs. We believe that it is worth promoting Polish brands internationally. We are a small part of the market, but as it turns out a very important one.For now, we are looking closer, so we are setting out to further conquer Europe. What will it result in? We hope to share good information with you soon.

In the meantime, you will already meet the UMMO brand at the Warsaw Home fair at the end of October. There we will present a new collection of lamps and some well-known models in a new look. See you there!
